Dr. Martin Luther King gives his final speech.
At the Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee a crowd of sanitation workers heard Dr. King’s “I’ve Been To The Mountaintop” speech and his prophetic words.
“I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land.”
The next day he was assassinated.
