Area Teams Clinch Playoff Spots, Cowboys Lose In Philly In Today’s Sports Update

Several area teams clinched playoff berths this weekend. Sports brought to you by RENO TIRE AND SERVICE CENTER.

On Friday night, the Chisum Mustangs defeated De Kalb 36-28. With the win, the Mustangs have clinched a playoff spot.

The Detroit Eagles also clinched a spot in the playoffs with a 28-14 win over Boles.

The Prairiland Patriots fell to Pewitt 28-7. It was Maud over Clarksville 42-27.
And as heard on Mix 107.7, Gilmer shut out the North Lamar Panthers for their fifth game in a row. This time it was Gilmer with a 54-0 win.
And in six nan action, Fannindel defeated Gold-Burg 45-0.

In volleyball bi-district playoffs, the Detroit Lady Eagles and the Rivercrest Lady Rebels both lost in three sets.

The Prairiland Lady Patriots will play Callisburg Tuesday night in the Area round of the playoffs. The game time is at 6:30 in Bells.

The Philadelphia Eagles will remain on the NFC East’s top after beating the Dallas Cowboys 23-9 on Sunday Night Football, and the result improves the Eagles to 3-4-1 this season while dropping the Cowboys to 2-6. Ben DiNucci Made his first start under center for Dallas. He finished 21/40 with 180 passing yards. He also fumbled twice and was sacked four times.

Chase Elliott claimed the checkered flag for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, clinching his spot in the Championship 4. Joey Logano, who had already booked his ticket to the next round, placed third. Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin also advanced to the Championship 4, placing fourth and 11th, respectively.
