High temperatures and heat indices will be on the rise today. Expect the lower to mid-90s in most locations, except East Texas where highs will remain in the 80s thanks to greater cloud cover. A few showers and storms will be possible once again from Central to East Texas this afternoon into tonight.
“Barry” has been downgraded to a tropical depression but the storm continues to drop vast amounts of rain on areas already deluged. A large amount of rain is still expected across Louisiana as well as Arkansas, Western Tennessee, Southeast Missouri, and Northwest Mississippi.
