WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aidan Walsh, So., G, Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons sophomore guard Aidan Walsh (Katy, Texas) led the Cowboys with 16-points, five rebounds, four assists, and a block and a steal in an 81-70 season-opening win at Howard Payne. Walsh shot 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field, hitting three three-pointers.

Howard Payne senior forward Tyrell Thompson (Houston, Texas) scored a game-high 22 points in the Yellow Jackets’ 70-81 loss to Hardin-Simmons. He also recorded four boards, a block, and a steal while shooting 6-of-13 from the field and 8-of-10 at the line.

EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hanna Hudson, Jr., G/F, East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist junior guard/forward Hanna Hudson (Itasca, Texas) averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game to lead the Tigers to a pair of wins in Georgia to open the season. In a 61-46 victory over Transylvania, she scored a career-high 14 points with six boards and a steal. Hudson followed with 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists in ETBU’s 71-65 at Piedmont.
WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Natasha Blizzard, Fr., F, Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons freshman forward Natasha Blizzard (Belton, Texas), who missed all of last year with a torn ACL, scored 14 points and hauled in seven rebounds in her first career game, giving the Cowgirls a season-opening 96-47 win over UNT Dallas. She helped lead the Cowgirls to a 58-24 lead in rebounding and led the team with six offensive rebounds.
