WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brittany Schnabel, So., G, Hardin-Simmons

Hardin-Simmons sophomore guard Brittany Schnabel (Millsap, Texas) averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game as the Cowgirls went 2-0. In Tuesday’s 73-68 win at Arlington Baptist, she scored a career-high 23 points with six assists and six boards while going 12-of-13 at the line. Schnabel followed with 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in a 77-54 victory against UNT Dallas Saturday.

 

ETBU’s Cochran Selected as Men’s Hoops Player of the Week

EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Charlie Cochran, Jr., F, East Texas Baptist

East Texas Baptist junior forward Charlie Cochran (Louisville, Ky.) scored 35 points with ten rebounds in his debut performance for the Tigers, a 78-70 win at Piedmont. He scored the first eight points of the second half to put ETBU up by 10. Cochran was 14-of 22 from the field (63.6 percent) and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line with two blocks and two steals.
