Athens Mayor Resigns After Arrest

Athens Mayor James Montgomery has resigned after his arrest during an undercover sting operation. The DPS reports that officials arrested Montgomery and three other suspects when they arrived at an undisclosed location after soliciting sex online with investigators posing as minors. Gregg County released Montgomery after posting a $300,000 bond. Athens will name an interim mayor within the month.
