Atoka Escapee Caught In Choctaw County After Intense Manhunt

A short but very intense manhunt for an escaped Atoka County Jail inmate ended when the inmate was captured in nearby Choctaw County. Daniel Poe walked away from the Atoka County Jail around 2:45 pm Wednesday and within minutes most of the town was on alert and schools placed on lockdown. Poe was later spotted in Boswell and taken into custody by search teams. Poe was being held in Atoka on North Carolina warrants for kidnapping and assault.
