The Texas House has enough members to pass a motion to find those who have unexcused absences. The motion from Representative Will Metcalf of Montgomery passed by an 80 to 12 margin. Speaker Dade Phelan then announced any member wanting to leave the house chamber must have his written permission.

Hugo School Placed On Lockdown After Gun Found

Hugo High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday from shortly before 10 until about 1130 Tuesday after a student brought a loaded pistol to school in his backpack.  The male student was arrested after police found pistol. Superintendent Earl Dalke, said the student will not be returning to school.
