Authorities Warn Of Phone Scam

Authorities have issued a warning about an increasing number of a phone scam, in which the callers are very convincing. They may identify themselves as a police or sheriff’s department and ask for payment for a bond for a family member. They say the bond can be paid by way of a gift card. No business or government agency will require payment using gift cards, iTunes cards, or shopping cards for any reason.
