Bailey Student Shows Appreciation For School Police Officer

The thin blue line says it all

Bailey Intermediate fourth grader Ty Pierce recently presented an afghan to Captain Jeff Akard of the North Lamar Police Department.  Ty asked his grandmother to knit the afghan for Akard so he could show his appreciation for him keeping the school safe.

“His grandmother has made numerous afghans for law-enforcement, first responders and the military for years,” said North Lamar Chief of Police Mike Boaz.  “She is a great lady and definitely passed her traits down to Ty.”

Ty’s mother Amanda Piece said, “I was a very proud mom when Ty asked his grandmother to make this for Office Akard because he keeps his school safe.  I was even more proud when he went in and delivered it to him and told him all about it!”
