Balloon Crash May Have Been Caused By Gunshots

One of the pilots in the sports balloon that caught fire Monday night says someone was shooting at them moments before they made an emergency landing in Kaufman County. The lead pilot, Krzystotf Zapart of Poland, who was seriously injured, said it was gunfire, not mechanical failure, that brought his adventure in a multi-state balloon race to an abrupt end. The other pilot was also seriously injured.
