Beef Prices Rising

The USDA predicts that beef prices will increase by seven percent this year. Arthur Uhl, who heads the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, says there are a lot of factors in play. It’s not just steaks that are getting more expensive. They expect pork prices to go up to five percent this year. The warning came after lawmakers aggressively questioned the heads of the country’s four major beef producers last week, accusing them of engaging in anti-competitive practices.
