Best-Of-The-Best To Perform Tonight At Maddox Stadium

Friday night lights may be no brighter than at R. L. Maddox Stadium this Friday night when Argyle High School comes to play. Not only is the Argyle football team ranked among the best in State Class 4A, so is their band.

North Lamar High School Marching Band is the defending UIL 4A State Marching Champions, a titled that the Argyle Marching Band held for five consecutive times. Two of those years, North Lamar trailed behind Argyle in second place. In 2016, North Lamar became the first 4A band to beat Argyle in almost ten years.

“These two band programs have captured almost every title and award that is awarded by UIL, TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association), TBA (Texas Bandmasters Association) and ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands),” said Jason R. Smith, NLHS Associate Band Director. “They, without question, represent the best of best in Texas band programs and to have them both performing at R.L. Maddox Stadium Friday night will be the best halftime show in the state.”
