Democrats may control the house and the Senate, but both Republican senators oppose a hike to $15 for the minimum wage. Senator John Cornyn claims $15 an hour would be a job killer for small business owners. He has doubts that the Senate can use reconciliation, which allows legislation to pass with a simple majority.
