Bogata May Hold Special Election For Council

The Bogata City council is two members short, after Mayor Vincent Lum and councilman Don Roach resigned and needs a special election to fill the board. The Red River County Commissioners Court could call a special election if they receive a petition with at least 26 signatures. In Bogata, city elections occur in odd years, so a special election could not be on the November General Election’s ballot.
