Bond Set For Hopkins County Man Who Fired At Officers

Crawford

Bond has been set at $75,000 for a Hopkins County man involved in an armed standoff with deputies and a SWAT team  made up of Sulphur Springs police, deputies and State Troopers. 62 year old Jerry Walton Crawford allegedly fired shots at the officers, and one bullet damaged  the windshield and antenna of a patrol vehicle. Crawford was reportedly still armed when he exited his home on CR 1174 after tear gas was fired into the structure. He was transported  to the hospital but released Sunday and is being held in jail for Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer.
