An 18-year-old Bonham man drowned after he and some friends jumped into a rock quarry Sunday on FM 2933 and Highway 121 in Collin County. The group was swimming across the quarry when Xzavion Epps, a recent Bonham High School graduate, got tired, panicked and started to struggle. Two friends tried to help him, but he went under and did not resurface. The search for his body took about four hours.
