Border Landowners Seeking Compensation

The surge in illegal immigration has walloped Texas border landowners. Police chases have plowed down fences, and Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales says the federal government needs to pay for that. So he’s filed a bill to reimburse border landowners for damages to their property resulting from illegal immigration. The cash would come from border wall construction, which the Biden administration has canceled. The funds would also allow landowners in “high-risk” areas to strengthen their security.
