Brett Young Talks Revenge In Today’s Nashville Roundup

People magazine claims Dan + Shay are performing at the Billboard Music Awards on May 1.

Breitbart claims Tim McGraw has allegedly canceled a series of concerts in Cuba because of new policies that keep American tourists from traveling to the island. Some tickets for the late May shows cost as much as $5,000.

Nicole Kidman tells Vanity Fair magazine that she and Keith Urban don’t allow their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, to have phones. “They don’t have a phone and I don’t allow them to have an Instagram,” she says. “I try to keep some sort of boundaries. A lot of my friends tease me. That’s how we are raising our children. Keith has his own beliefs but he comes, too. I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had a massive impact. I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s constant questioning – I’m a willful, feisty girl. For me, it’s very important that I don’t have judgment. My dad would always say, ‘Tolerance is the most important thing.’ ”

As for her relationship with Keith, Nicole says, ”It’s extremely simple with what we want from each other and what we want from a relationship. Just peas in a pod in that regard. [I love] being a tour wife. I love that Keith is a guitar player and a singer, but his passion is guitar and writing music. That’s what I’m around every day.”

Kelsea Ballerini tells the Nashville Business Journal that she is open to expanding her brand. “I think that I’m very new still, and I have a lot to prove. But if I ever had the actual proper platform — I love shoes, and I love wine. I would love to do something with both, for sure. Or shoes and wine together.”

Brett Young tells Cowboys and Indians magazine that country music is a great way to get revenge on his sister. “I have an older sister, who didn’t like country music when we were growing up, and as siblings do, whoever gets the front seat — which is something that you fight over every time you get in the car — gets control of the radio. Whenever she would get the front seat, I would just sit in the back and wait my turn. Whenever I would get in the front seat, she would kick the back of my chair so I couldn’t enjoy my turn in the front seat. So what I figured out is that she didn’t like country music, and that was the only way I could get back at her.”

Hollywoodlife.com claims Gwen Stefani’s children think of Blake Shelton as a father figure. A source tells the website,  “Blake and Gwen spent Easter together as a family because Gwen and the kids think of Blake as a father figure. They respect and love him and are very appreciative of him being there for them. Blake is taking on the role of a stepdad close to his heart and is really loving it. This in no way takes the kids away from Gavin and how he is as a father because Gavin is a wonderful father, but Gwen and the kids are happy that everyone gets the best of both worlds. Blake stepped up and will be in their lives forever just as Gavin will be. It’s a pretty healthy situation. Everyone is getting along which is pretty nice to see.”
