Pinwheels, symbolizing 221 child abuse cases served by the Children’s Advocacy Center in 2017, were planted on the front lawn of the CAC as a visual reminder of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Students from Cheryl Vanderburg’s and Wendi Fleming’s classes at Higgins Elementary joined community members in planting the pinwheels. Representing the cases served were 146 red pinwheels for sexual abuse, 33 blue for physical abuse, 20 orange for child witness, and 22 green for drug endangered children.
