Camp County Democrats Monthly Meeting and Birthday Party Bash to be Held to Honor President Obama

Camp County Democrats are throwing a Birthday Party for our President during our August meeting Tuesday (Aug 9) at 6:30 pm. The meeting is at the Douglass Community Center. The event will celebrate the vital role of the Executive Branch and its responsibilities that, along with the other branches of government, have worked together to ensure our democracy and have made this country the great and powerful nation it is. Everyone is invited to attend and celebrate President Obama’s big occasion and his accomplishments. Bring the children to meet a special “guest” who will be on hand to talk about how the federal government works.

Besides some party games, the event will include a “Best Birthday Cake” contest, with a prize going to winning decorator. Attendees will get to eat the entries cake. Any baker/cake decorator wanting to participate is welcome and encouraged to compete. Cake entries should be brought to the Douglass Community Center on North Terry Street between 5:30 and 6:15 pm on the evening of the event. Donation jars determine the Best Birthday Cake with all proceeds supporting our local Democratic candidates.

We are seeking an entries birthday wish with a “Best Birthday Wishes Contest.” The best birthday card submitted for each of three age groups: children two to 12 years old, teenagers 13 to 19 and adults 20 +, will receive prizes. Cards should be homemade with some words of best wishes, thanks or encouragement for our 44th President who was born on August 4, 1961. Mail card entries to Birthday, PO Box 182, Leesburg, TX 75451 by Saturday (Aug 6) for entry to be received on Tuesday (Aug 9) at 6:15 pm for consideration.
