Canton Crash Injuries Deputy, Civilian

A crash in Canton Monday evening involving a Van Zandt County deputy and a civilian resulted in two hospitalizations. The civilian was flown to a Tyler hospital by a medical helicopter. The deputy was transported to Tyler by a ground ambulance. The crash happened at the intersection of Hwy 64 and Hwy 243. A witness said the deputy’s vehicle had its siren and emergency lights on when it approached the intersection.
