Capital Murder Charges Filed Against Suspect In East Texas Girls Murder

Prosecutors have filed Capital Murder charges against a man suspected in the death of an East Texas 10-year-old. The new warrant was served on 24 year old Gustavo Zavala-Garcia of Mexico in the Smith County jail. Zavala-Garcia is the uncle of the victim, Kayla Garcia-Orosco. She went missing last Tuesday during a church service in Bullard and her body was later found in a well.   According to the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Zavala-Garcia is in the country illegally. His bond is set at $10 million.
