Capital Murder Trial Slated For Franklin County

Jury selection begins today in Franklin County in the Capital Murder trial of 22 year old James Arthur Crawford the Third of Jefferson.  He is accused  of killing 75 year old Kenneth Rex Raley at a home in the 900 block of Miller Street in Mount Vernon in September of 2014. Testimony is expected to begin on Wednesday.  Prosecutor Will Ramsay is not seeking the death penalty in the case, and if convicted as charged, Crawford will be sentenced to life in prison without parole.  400 summonses have been sent to potential jurors, and the voir dire ( vwah deer) will be held at the Franklin County Airport before District Judge Eddie Northcutt.
