Cashner and Rangers Take Down Red Sox Plus Dallas Cowboys notes

The Texas Rangers avoid the sweep after beating Boston, 8-2. It was Roogie Odor getting the scoring started for the good guys with a two-run blast in the 2nd inning. Starting Andrew Cashner picked up the win on the mound, giving up no earned runs in seven innings. The Rangers have the day off today before beginning a weekend series against the Angels tomorrow.
A pair of Dallas Cowboys made the off-season headlines for the wrong reasons yesterday. Linebacker, Damien Wilson, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon on the 4th of July following an incidence at the Toyota Center in Frisco. After tailgaters refused to move and allow Wilson to park, Wilson allegedly back into a woman and brandished a firearm. The Dallas Cowboys say they’re looking into the matter but have made no comment.
Quarterback, Dak Prescott, also finds himself in question after being accused of using a machine to sign his autograph rather than signing them by hand. Beckett Grading Service claimed the cards were written by autopen, a machine politicians have used to sign letters in mass for more than 60 years. It’s not known if Prescott knew about the autopen signed memorabilia.
And the Dallas Mavericks have the rookie 1st-round selection, Dennis Smith, Jr., under contract with a four-year deal worth $2.7 million per season. Dallas selected Smith, Jr. with the ninth overall pick out of North Carolina State.
