Lamar County Coronavirus Report 12.20.20

The Paris Lamar County Coronavirus report on Saturday shows three more deaths from the virus. The latest patients to pass away were 72 and 77-year-old-men and an 87-year-old woman. The county reported 28 more COVID-19 cases. The state says there are 73 total deaths in the county from the disease.

Hopkins County Coronavirus Update

The Texas Department of State Health Services on Saturday reported two new deaths from COVID-19 in Hopkins County. There were also seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 17 new probable cases, and 16 recoveries. As of Saturday, there were 158 active COVID-19 cases.

The Paris-Lamar County Health District reported another death from COVID-19 Thursday. The latest patient to succumb to the virus was a 66-year-old man. Teachers Get Vaccine Priority In Oklahoma

Oklahoma school teachers have moved to a higher priority on the list of those eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine. They have moved teachers from the third phase of vaccinations to the second phase. The goal is to return all schools to in-person classes in January.

Vaccine Arrives In Texarkana

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Texarkana Thursday morning. Wadley Regional Medical Center and Christus St. Michael Health System each received 975 doses of the vaccine. The doses are made available to those on the frontline, but workers don’t need to take the vaccine.
