Cell Phones and Schools

TSN    The start of classes come with changes, as some Texas schools are banning cell phones. There is not a statewide rule, but Education Commissioner Mike Morath hinted that he would like one.  The debate over phones in schools is not just in Texas. States across the country are grappling with how to handle social media that some see as harmful. A newly-released Pew Research Poll found that one-third of the nation’s public school teachers say students being distracted by cellphones is a major problem in their classroom.
