Ceremonies will begin at noon today on the downtown plaza in Paris commemorating the centennial of the Great Fire of 1916 that destroyed much of downtown Paris and claimed three lives. The ceremonies will include speeches, exhibits and presentations. Parking on the square will be prohibited after 10:30 a.m. and area streets closed to motor vehicle traffic. Food trucks will be on hand for refreshments, and souvenirs and mementos will be available. Streets will be reopened after 2:30 p.m.
