We were so happy to welcome 300 riders to the Spring Fever Bike Rally! Even with a little rain, the riders LOVED being in Hopkins County and were so appreciative of the East Texas Hospitality! To the people who hosted the rest stops…Muddy Jakes, Fix & Feed, Jackie, Polly, Gloria & Donna, Shannon Oaks, Rock Creek Health & Rehab, First United Methodist Church, Grace Family Fellowship, The Way Radio, Robbin Vaughan & friends, Nations Lending, Texas Heritage National Bank, Chamber, and Healing Hands Massage…THANK YOU! The riders loved the special treats that y’all had at the stops! To the folks who drove SAG Wagons, Rusty Harden, Randy Rushin, Lisa Robinson, Stephanie Stephens, Barbara Palmer, Brian Toliver Ford, SS Dodge, Jeff Post, Kelly Humphries, Chuck Sickles…THANK YOU! Y’all did an AWESOME job! Also, a special thanks to Alliance Bank and SW Dairy Museum for feeding the riders and to the SSPD and Sheriff’s Department & Posse for helping keep the riders safe! Everyone was amazing and we are looking forward to next year’s ride!

H.C. Sheriff Butch Adams’ 6h Annual Meet & Greet and Easter Egg Hunt, March 19th
Don’t miss the 6h Annual Meet and Greet and Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Hopkins County Law Enforcement Association and the Hopkins County D.A.R.E. Program. The event will take place March 19th from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Hopkins County Civic Center. The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 10:30am for up to 10 year olds, prize eggs, bounce houses, clowns and entertainment provided. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks provided shortly after the Easter Egg Hunt! Best of all…it’s FREE!!!!

Historical Walking Tour with John Sellers – Saturday, April 2 @ 10am. $10 per ticket.
This tour will begin at the rear parking lot of the Public Library on North Davis. They will tour the North Davis and Church Street residential areas. Highlights include history of families and their businesses. They will study architectural features and differences of the houses from outside. Historic areas on the northern part of downtown will be explored. Step back in time and relive some of the earlier times of town.

Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament—April 8th @ SS Country Club…Register NOW!
Registration forms are available NOW for the 27th Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament that will take place on Friday, April 8th at the beautifully redesigned Sulphur Springs Country Club. If you would like more information, please call 903-885-6515. There are several morning tee times and a few afternoon tee times remaining, so get your forms in NOW! Tee times are guaranteed on a first come first paid basis. We will have lots of contest holes, hole in one chances plus much more!

Kid’s Safe Saturday will be held at Kid’s Kingdom @ Buford Park located at the corner of League Street and Connally Street in Sulphur Springs, TX on Saturday April 9th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We are excited to have your organization participate. Please complete the information below and return to Nancy Mumford (903-233-5228), at nancy.mumford@dfps.state.tx.us, or mail it to: Nancy Mumford, DFPS, 2130 Alpine Rd., Longview TX 75601. There is no fee to participate, however all participants in Kid’s Safe Saturday will need to provide the following:
• A table and chairs for your booth
• 4 packs of hotdog buns
• A fun activity for the kids to do at your booth
• Token giveaways for the kids
• 1 door prize for the kids (minimum $10.00)
• A message of safety and family wellbeing

Poster Contest for all 5th Grade Students in Hopkins County
Deputy Kelly Wiser with the D.A.R. E. program invites all 5th graders in Hopkins County to participate in the Poster Contest, April 23rd! Topics for the posters may include illegal drugs, tobacco, alcohol, bullying, peer pressure, and/or prescription meds. All posters must be on poster board and students may use any resources on the poster. Entries must be submitted by April 23rd at 10:00am at the Sheriff’s office, 298 Rosemont Street.
