Cherokee County Crash Into Lake Blamed On Texting

State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash in Cherokee County on FM-346 after an SUV driven by 41-year-old Joseph Van, of Flint, ran off the road and into a lake. Van admitted that he had been texting. He reportedly overcorrected and went over the guardrail into Lake Palestine. Two citizens in a boat helped the driver get out and got him to safety.
