Choctaw Nation shows troops they care
DURANT, Okla. – Choctaw Nation Veterans Advocacy Department is shipping care packages to troops just in time for Christmas. Roger Hamill, Deputy Director of Veterans Advocacy, said, “We put together these individual care packages for them,” adding that the gift boxes contain simple things, like lotion, socks, and toiletries.
This is not an effort for the holidays only. “It’s something we do every three months,” Hamill said. “Veterans Advocacy puts together and mails care packages to the military in active war zones.” The care packages reach 3,000 troops each year.
Choctaw Nation Veterans Advocacy is located at the Choctaw Nation Headquarters, 1802 Chukka Hina, Durant. Contact the office at 800-522-6170 Ext. 2160, firstname.lastname@example.org or www.choctawnation.com/veterans-advocacy.
