Choctaw Nation To Work With FAA On Improved Drones

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma to test drones with “beyond visual line of sight” technology. Currently, the pilot or operator can fly drones by sight only. The program hopes to supplement and replace trucks with delivery drones in rural areas. It could also make search and rescue operations more accessible and safer and assist farmers when locating missing cattle or patrolling fences.
