The Hopkins County Healthcare Foundation will be hosting Designer Handbag Bingo on Thursday, August 4, at the Hopkins County Civic Center. Doors will open at 5:00 pm, and games will begin at 6:00 pm. Tickets and tables will be on sale soon.

Men’s Health Month- Make Prevention a Priority

With June being National Men’s Health Month, we focus on different aspects of male health. This week the focus is on Cardiology:

Heart disease affects men more than women. However, it is true across all age groups. They are also more likely to develop heart disease at a younger age.

They recommend screening all men over the age of 40 for risks of cardiovascular disease. Here are some risk factors: high heart rate, high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, smoking history, family history of premature heart disease, advanced age, and lifestyle. If you are obese, have a BMI greater than 30, eat a diet high in certain fats and sugars, or lead a sedentary lifestyle, you are more likely to develop heart disease. COVID Vaccine Clinics 

Net health continues to offer Adult and Pediatric COVID vaccines at 100 Medical Circle in Sulphur Springs. They will provide vaccines from10am until 3:00 pm daily every four weeks as listed: June 27 – July 1, July 25-29, August 22 – 26, September 19 – 23, and October 17 – 21. No appointment is necessary.

 Volunteers Needed in Hospital Gift Shop!
