Due to low water pressure caused by pump failure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system The City of Lone Star Texas (PWS ID 172005) to notify customers of the need to boil their water before consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Instead of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Lone Star will issue instructions to discontinue boiling in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Kenneth Harris, water System Official or Mayor Karl Stoermer. Please call903-656-2311 if you have any questions. After regular business hours, you may call 903-916-1545.
If the customer wishes to contact the TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
