City Of Paris To Test Outdoor Storm Sirens Friday Morning

The outdoor siren test is scheduled for Friday.
PARIS, TEXAS—The City of Paris will test the outdoor siren system, weather permitting, at 10:00 am on Friday, Sept. 6. The city will cancel the test if inclement weather conditions or heavy cloud cover exist at the scheduled time.
The city typically tests the system at 10:00 am on the last Friday of each month. However, weather conditions forced the cancellation of these tests for several months.
“We don’t anticipate any issues with the sirens, but we need to confirm that with a test,” Paris Assistant Chief of Police and Emergency Management Coordinator Randy Tuttle said. “If we have to cancel on the sixth, we’ll reschedule for another date shortly.”
Sirens will be active for several minutes during the test. The sirens may activate and deactivate multiple times as part of the process. If an actual emergency occurs around the scheduled test time, citizens should monitor the RAVE Alert notification system, local media, and official websites and social media pages. Paris and Lamar County residents can sign up for RAVE alerts at www.ParisTexas.gov/GetRAVE.
