HOUSTON — Coast Guard crews medevaced two people off of two different cruise ships just a few hours apart Sunday, but in almost the same location about 15 miles east of Galveston.

The Coast Guard Cutter Manowar, an 87-foot patrol boat, medevaced the woman and brought her to Station Galveston, where EMS was waiting. They arrived at the station at 7:00 pm.
At 8:15 pm, the Carnival Breeze notified Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders that a passenger aboard was suffering from a blocked esophagus and needed assistance. Station Galveston 45-foot response boat crews medevaced the 41-year-old man from less than a mile away from the other medevac. They met EMS at the station at 10:28 p.m.
Both individuals delivered in stable condition.
