Officials in Collin County say they need a lot more vaccine from the state. So far, Collin County has received just over 46,000 vaccine doses, but officials say based on the county’s population, the allocation should be around 72,000 vaccine doses. County Judge Chris Hill says they have been pleading for more from the state, but Texas has shot them down so far.
Among all 254 Texas counties, only Denton County has a more significant vaccine deficiency than Collin County. The state has acknowledged they have not provided Collin and Denton the right amount of shares, but they also stated that they would not correct the deficiency until late February at the earliest.
