North Lamar ISD will be searching for a new superintendent and is seeking input from both staff and community members. Education Solution Services, who has been hired by the district, will have Letha Hopkins and Randy Hancock on campus Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1 conducting interviews with principals, directors, and staff as well as getting feedback from the community.
“Education Solution Services’ goal is to get opinions on the valuable traits and characteristics that our next superintendent should possess,” said North Lamar Interim Superintendent Charlie Martin. “This will happen on the Thursday and Friday the week we get back from Thanksgiving. They will also schedule time for faculty and community to be able to convey their thoughts in the late afternoons at the high school library the same two days.”
Sessions for all North Lamar staff will be on November 30 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. followed by a public forum from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. On Friday, December 1, the day will be open for interviews from anyone from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. An open session for all will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. All sessions will be in the NLHS library.
“We want any and everybody that would like a chance to weigh in on the next superintendent to have the opportunity to do so,” said Martin.
