Cornyn Proposes Fuel Tax On Commercial Truckers

The Texas trucking industry is opposing a new tax prosed by Republican Senator John Cornyn. He suggested that commercial vehicles pay a fee of 25 cents per mile to help pay for infrastructure. Texas Trucking Association President John Esparza says they have already told Senator Cornyn their position. He says the industry would support an overall increase in the fuel tax, which would not single out the commercial trucking industry.
