A federal investigation is underway into an alleged scam that sent millions of counterfeit N95 masks to hospitals and health care facilities across the country. The covers are made to resemble the N95 masks manufactured by 3M closely but are fakes and can’t be trusted. Washington State spent $1.4 million on 300,000 that turned out to be fake. Homeland Security has confiscated more than ten million counterfeit masks since the pandemic began.
