Country Music News For Friday March 16

Brett Eldredge tells the Dallas Observer that he is still getting used to women tattooing his lyrics on their bodies.”It took me awhile to get used to that because I still feel like the same 20-year-old kid who moved to Nashville, having fun, goofing off, writing songs and just having a blast, getting onstage and singing wherever I can. And now everything has gotten really big, and fortunately for my career, you get this whole fan thing. I’ve had it going on for a little while now, but it continues to get more passionate, more passionate about my music, and they start getting tattoos, they start dancing to your song at their wedding, and they say your music has changed their lives and they get a tattoo — it’s a cool feeling. At first it was a little weird for me, but at the same time, that’s why I make music, to try to be that outlet for somebody to get away from the world.”

Life & Style Weekly Magazine claims Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have no plans to divorce. A source tells the magazine: “She wants the world to know that she and Mike are stronger than ever. They’ve certainly had their ups and downs, like everyone, but divorce was never an option for Carrie. She says hard work, faith, and commitment to family saved her marriage. Carrie and Mike have been married more than seven years, and they’ve overcome rough patches. Their secrets to a solid marriage are open communication and spending quality time together.”

Scotty McCreery tells People magazine that he proposed to his fiance Gabi near a waterfall by North Carolina’s Grandfather Mountain. “We were looking for a waterfall about two or three years ago and I completely screwed up and got us lost. And I was like, well, the next trail map, we’re just gonna see where it takes us, and we got out and then came up to these beautiful cliffs. Now it’s kind of our spot every time we go to the mountains. It did not work out as planned, but it probably worked out even better.”

Scotty McCreery tells People magazine that former Idol judge Jennifer Lopez is the most normal person he knows. “The last time we were out in L.A., it was a bunch of us old idols and alum, and we were hanging out and waiting on Jennifer to film something. She walked in the room — I was on the opposite side — and she locked eyes and said ‘Oh hey, baby!’ And she came over and gave me a hug and we just hung out for a little bit. She’s sweet. She’s so down to earth, as much as a diva as she is on TV and everything, she always has her mom with her. I was like ‘She’s so normal, but she’s so cool.’”

Tim McGraw has filled out his March Madness bracket. His Final Four includes Duke, North Carolina, Purdue and Virginia.

Country Music Rocks claims Devin Dawson will appear on Ellen DeGeneres’s talk show on Thursday, March 22.
