Country Music News for Wednesday March 21

Sounds Like Nashville claims Brad Paisley is going to perform at a second fundraiser for the city of Montecito, California. Fires and mudslides ravaged the town several months ago.

Brad released a statement saying; “Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara and the Montecito area on our honeymoon. It feels like small-town America by the sea. With this concert I hope to raise awareness, spirits and money for the region that’s recovering from the devastating mudslides and fires. I hope people come out and actually make it an experience with us and visit some of the local shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.”

Jon Pardi tells Sounds like Nashville that he hopes Luke Bryan takes him fly fishing when they tour together. “Luke likes to do a lot of stuff. I think one day I want him to teach me how to fly fish. ‘Cause I know he loves fly fishing and I know that’s something I’ve always wanted to learn, and I think we’ll actually have a time out there. Tim McGraw and I worked out together, which was fun. I got to have a beer with Alan Jackson, and talked to George Strait a couple of times. Those are some of my heroes. I’ve gotten to do a lot of cool stuff with people I’ve been listening to since I was a kid which is definitely a cool feeling.”

Kelsea Ballerini tells Perth Now that Australian fans are different than American country music fans. “People are on people’s shoulders, drinking beers out of shoes … they are engaged.”

Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban have been added as performers at the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 15th. Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris and Thomas Rhett have already confirmed they will be performing

Carrie Underwood’s son Isaiah recently caught his first fish with his first cast.Isaiah and his father Mike Fisher were out fishing when he reeled in a fish that was the size of Mike’s hand.

Blake Shelton tells NBC that he enjoys spending time with Gwen Stefani’s sons. ”At this point in my life, I kind of had put [having kids] as like, ‘Well, that wasn’t meant to be.’ Then all of a sudden it happens one way or another and it’s like, ‘Wow, I missed out on a lot.’ And so having them around … I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s so much fun. For a long time, it was awkward trying to figure out what my place is and in their mind too. The best part for me, selfishly, is discovering a part of myself that I guess I never really knew was in there. It’s definitely an instinct that kind of kicks in. There’s days where you go, ‘Oh my God, when does school start?’ An hour later you’re going, ‘God, I can’t wait ’til they get home.’ They’re so damn funny. It’s just my first time being around it, and it’s easy to fall in love with those kids. They’re special.”
