Court Today for Lamar County Man Accused of Sexual Assault of Child

A man recently transported from a state penitentiary in Huntsville to the Lamar County Jail is slated to appear in court this afternoon. Jared Tanar Roberts, 37, is facing a new charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a child. The alleged victim is now a ten-year-old child. Roberts is currently serving a sexual assault sentence and had a prior sexual assault conviction out of Angelina County.
