COVID-19 In Texas: Death Toll Nears 6,000

The coronavirus death toll in Texas is fast approaching 6,000, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services. State health officials reported 164 additional fatalities on Tuesday, bringing the pandemic total in Texas to 5,877. And the agency reported 8,342 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases from March to nearly 400,000.
