COVID Closings – Friday Jan 14

Campbell ISD – Campbell ISD has canceled all classes through Friday, Jan 21. Classes will resume Monday, Jan 24.

Chapel Hill MP – Chapel Hill ISD of Titus County has announced the school will close because of numerous illnesses. The announcement on Facebook said campuses would be closed Wed. Jan 12 through Fri. Jan 14 with classes to resume Tues. Jan 18. Monday is a holiday for MLK Day. Students should check with sponsors/coaches about extracurricular activities.

Clarksville ISD – Clarksville ISD will be closed until Jan 20. COVID illness among staff and students is the reason, and at this time, the high school will remain open.

Como-Pickton CISD – Closed until Wednesday.

Cooper ISD – Cooper ISD’s elementary campus will be closed Friday and resume Tuesday, Jan 18.

Cumby ISD – Closed Until Wednesday, Jan 19.

Detroit ISD – Detroit ISD schools will be closed this week due to many staff/student absences, and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan 18. Monday is a student holiday in honor of MLK Day.

Greenville ISD – Greenville ISD has canceled classes at Carver Elementary Friday and resumes Tuesday, Jan 18. However, parents can still pick up meals at the school.

Harleton ISD – Harleton has closed until Tuesday, Jan 18. There will be no remote learning on Thursday and Friday, with no staff is required to report on those days. High school athletics may still hold practice, and the varsity basketball games for Friday will be next week.

Harts Bluff ISD- Harts Bluff has decided that in the best interest of its staff & students’ safety, it will close all campuses on Wednesday, Jan 12, until Friday, Jan 14. The district resumes classes Tuesday, Jan 18.

Honey Grove ISD – Honey Grove reported an unprecedented rise in COVID and has closed until Tuesday, Jan 18.

Hughes Springs ISD – Hughes Springs ISD will reopen on Tuesday, Jan 18. There will be no extracurricular activities or practices until Jan.18.

Hugo ISD – Hugo Public Schools announced Monday the district will be moving to distance learning, effective immediately until Tuesday, Jan 18. Principals will supply teachers, students, parents, or caregivers with details about distance learning requirements. The district cited very high and increasing Covid numbers.

McLeod ISD – McLeod also canceled classes because of the significant rise in COVID cases.

North Hopkins ISD – Closed until Wednesday

Paris Animal Shelter – The Paris Animal Shelter will be closed to the public because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, anyone who wishes to adopt an animal can contact the Lamar County Humane Association to set up an appointment for viewing or adoption at 903-784-6774. Those looking for their missing pet should give a description or picture of the animal to staff, who will then check for the animal in the shelter.

Paris ISD – Due to the high number of staff and student absences, Paris ISD will be closed from Friday, Jan 14 through Tuesday, Jan 18. All campuses will resume at regular time on Wednesday, Jan 19. Paris ISD will provide food for the days that the school is closed. You can pick up food items at either Justiss Elementary School or Crockett Intermediate School on Friday, Jan 14, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Paris ISD is redesigning the district calendar to make up days as necessary. However, the last day of instruction will remain as May 26, 2022.

Paris ISD – Paris ISD has moved to 50% capacity for athletic and other events for the remainder of this week because of the spike of COVID cases among staff and students. The district continues to strongly urge mask-wearing, social distancing when possible, and frequent hand washing.

Paul Pewitt ISD – Due to illness, all Pewitt CISD Campuses and Offices will be closed for the remainder of the week. Classes resume on a regular bell schedule on Tuesday, Jan 18, 2022. Monday, Jan 17, is a school holiday in honor of MLK Day. Due to this week’s school closure, the school district canceled all after-school activities. School officials are working to reschedule and will issue notifications of these changes as they become available.

Rivercrest ISD – Rivercrest ISD is closed until Tuesday, Jan 18. A large number of students and staff had illnesses.

Sulphur Springs ISD– All Sulphur Springs ISD campuses and offices will be closed Friday, Jan 14, through Tuesday, Jan 18, due to staffing inadequacies caused by COVID-19. The school will take extra cleaning/disinfecting measures during this time. Extracurricular events will continue as scheduled, if feasible.

Texarkana ISD – Opens Tuesday, Jan 18.
