Paris – Area volleyball teams will be in tournament action this weekend with some beginning pool play yesterday. The Prairiland Lady Patriots and Chisum Lady Mustangs kicked off the North Hopkins tournament. The Paris Lady Cats started the Denison tournament and the North Lamar Pantherette’s begin the Wills Point tournament today. And local football teams will wrap up scrimmages today before beginning the regular season next week. Prairiland will host Detroit at 6pm. Rivercrest will host Tom Bean.

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils will be at the West Rusk tournament and the Pittsburg Pirates host Palestine at 7. Area football teams will play their final tune up games before beginning the regular season next weekend. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will host Pleasant Grove this morning at 10am while Mt. Vernon visits Edgewood.
Sulphur Springs – Local volleyball teams will be in tournament action this weekend while football teams play their final tune up games before the start of the regular season next week. North Hopkins kicked off their tournament yesterday. The tournament will conclude on Saturday. The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be at the Wills Point Tournament. The Sulphur Springs football hosts Liberty Eylau at Prim Stadium on Friday morning at 10am. And the Mt. Vernon Tigers will be on the road against Edgewood.
The Dallas Cowboys play their second pre-season game tonight against the Miami Dolphins. Cowboys quarterback is expected to play two series to start the game before giving way to Dak Prescott and Jameill Showers. Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott will be held out as a precaution.
