Cowboys Lose Plus Last Game At Globe Life Park In Today’s Sports Update

Yesterday the Texas Rangers said goodbye to Globe Life Park as they defeated the Yankees 6-1 as heard on 1490 AM and 96.3 FM KPLT. Texas finished the season 78-84. The Rangers will open next season in their new ballpark.

In football action On Friday night, the Paris Wildcats fell to Melissa 54-46. It was Anna 28-11 over North Lamar. In the loss, junior kicker Favian Morales kicked a 57-yard field goal, shattering the school record of 48 yards.

It was Chisum over Whitewright 42-33. Rivercrest shut out Maud 46-0. Honey Grove throttled Clarksville 76-6. Cumby beat Detroit 64-42, and Cooper got a goalline-stand with less than a minute to play to beat Prairiland 26-21.

In volleyball on Friday, the Paris Lady Cats swept Pittsburg. The Prairiland Lady Pats lost to Commerce in five sets. It was Rivercrest over Maud in four sets while Detroit swept Clarksville.

The Dallas Cowboys lost their first game of the season as they fell to the New Orlean Saints 12-10 on Sunday Night Football. All 12 of the Saints’ points came on field goals from Wil Lutz. Dallas only managed 45 rushing yards in the game. The Cowboys will play the Packers on Sunday afternoon.

And, the Houston Texans lost to Carolina 16-10.

Some changes in the AP College football poll.  Alabama is now No. 1, Clemson is 2nd, Georgia is 3rd, Ohio State is 4th, LSU drops one to No. 5, Oklahoma drops to No. 6, Auburn moves up to 7th, Wisconsin moves up 5 spots to No. 8, Notre Dame is at No. 9 and Florida drops to No. 10. Texas moved up a spot to No. 11. No. 24 SMU is ranked for the first time since the program received the so-called death penalty for NCAA rules violations in 1987 and did not compete for two seasons. Texas A&M dropped to No. 25 tied with Michigan.
