Cowboys Staffer Hospitalized Plus High School Basketball And Football In Today’s Sports Update

The Dallas Cowboys announced that they hospitalized their strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul Tuesday morning after experiencing a medical emergency. Dallas canceled Tuesday’s practice earlier in the day but didn’t provide details beyond saying the then-unnamed staffer’s health issue wasn’t related to COVID-19. The Cowboys play the Washington Football Team on Thanksgiving.

Todd Archer said they suspended Linebacker Luke Gifford two games for violating the NFL’s policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs. Gifford, who has played mostly in a special teams role this season, will be able to return to the team on Dec. 4.

They unveiled the first edition of this season’s College Football Playoff Top 25 Tuesday night. The selection committee gave Alabama top ranking, followed by Notre Dame, Clemson, and Ohio State. Texas A&M is currently in the number five spot.

In basketball Tuesday, the Rivercrest Lady Rebels lost to Como Pickton 40-27. Logan Huddleston led the Lady Rebels with 9 points. She also pulled down six rebounds.

The North Lamar Pantherettes beat Cooper 46-37 as Mylee Nottingham led North Lamar with 12 points, and Cydnie Malone finished with 11. The Paris Wildcats lost to Commerce 57-51.

This Friday, On 101.9 KBUS, the Paris Wildcats will play district rival, Melissa. The Cardinals finished second in the district behind Argyle. Paris was third. The game they were supposed to play earlier this season was a forfeit. Friday’s game will be in Commerce at 7:30. Pregame on KBUS begins at 7:00 pm, and the winner of this game will play the winner of Argyle and Waco La Vega.
