Cowboys Take Down Eagles Plus Friday Night Lights In Today’s Sports

The Dallas Cowboys Ezekiel Elliott ran for 111 yards and a touchdown, Dak Prescott threw an easy scoring pass on a great fake to his star running back before a TD run, and the Cowboys rolled to a 37-10 victory over the Philadelphia last night. Dallas is off this week.

The Houston Texans fell short in a 30-23 loss to the Colts.

North Lamar beat Sanger 22-14 in OT on homecoming Friday night. Sanger picked up a fumble and ran it back 35 yards with less than a minute to play. A two-point conversion tied the game. North Lamar scored the only touchdown of the extra frame. At Paris High, the Wildcats fell to number one ranked Argyle 65-44. It was Whitewright over Cooper 28-13. Bells defeated Chisum 35-7. Honey Grove was all over Boles 62-0. Rivercrest suffered their first loss of the season 34-20 against Wolfe City. Detroit got by James Bowie 40-36. And Clarksville was all over Overton 70-40.

In volleyball, the Paris Lady Cats took a two-game lead in the district with a four-set win over North Lamar. Paris is now 6-0 in district while North Lamar drops to 3-2. On other actions, Chisum fell to Mt Vernon in three sets. Prairiland swept Chapel Hill. Detroit beat Rivercrest in straight sets. Kaisen Eldridge finished with 11 assists for the Lady Eagles.

The 20th-ranked Texas A&M University-Commerce football team fell behind by two scores in the first quarter to fourth-ranked Tarleton State University on Saturday, and the Lions were unable to climb back from that deficit in a 35-21 loss. The Lions fall to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Lone Star Conference with the loss, while the Texans move to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.

The World Series is set. After a dramatic walk-off two-run homer by Jose Altuve in the bottom of the 9th, the Houston Astros beat the NY Yankees 6-4. They head to their second Fall Classic in three years. Game one of the series with Washington is Tuesday night at 7:08 pm at Houston on FOX.

Some changes in the AP College Football Poll: Alabama is No. 1, LSU is No. 2, Ohio State is 3rd, Clemson is 4th, Oklahoma is No. 5, Penn State is at No. 6, Florida is 7th, Notre Dame is 8th, Auburn is 9th and Georgia is 10th.  Baylor is 14th, Texas is at No. 15 and SMU is 16th.
