Hwy 24 near Texas A&M-Commerce was shut down late New Year’s Eve after two motorists collided with at least six cows on the highway. The motorists suffered non-life-threatening injuries and transported themselves to the hospital for treatment. A spokesman from the university said the cattle did not belong to the college although the accident occurred near the university’s animal science education farm.
